Phone Booth Research Sample

Phone Booth (2002) is an Action Thriller produced by Joel Schumacer. It conforms to the conventions of thriller as it has mystery, suspense and keeps the audience enthralled as the plot builds to a climax at the end of the film. The film follows the character of Stuart Shepard as he becomes trapped in a phone booth and cannot leave as he is being watched by a sniper and held to ransom. Typical thriller films are set in ordinary towns and cities and Phone Booth is no exception; Colin Farrell is in the centre of New York as passers-by are oblivious to the twisted experience he is living. Phone Booth has many tag lines including 'Hang up or you die'; this engages the audience as they want to see what happens to the characters as the plot develops.

Thriller Research

You need to research the Thriller Genre thoroughly as part of your planning and research. Try to include a variety of information on types of thriller including examples of hybrids.

You need to analyse how the genre initially developed and how it has changed over the years.

Upload your initial research on the thriller films and directors onto your blog; remember to include images, clips, hyperlinks and analysis of extracts that explain how the film can be considered a thriller.
